If you or someone you know is suicidal or in emotional distress, contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Trained crisis workers are available to talk 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your confidential and toll-free call goes to the nearest crisis center in the Lifeline national network. These centers provide crisis counseling and mental health referrals.

Support for deaf and hard of hearing individuals is available.

If you or someone you know has a mental health and/or substance use or abuse problem, there are ways to get help. Studies show that most people with mental health and substance use disorders get better and recover.

Depending upon the severity of your current situation, the resources to the left of this page are great starting points to gain access to treatment and recovery services for you, a friend, neighbor, student, colleague, family member, or others in need.

Another starting point could be a conversation with your primary care doctor or another health professional about mental health substance use disorders. Ask them to connect you with the right treatment service provider(s). If you do not have a health professional who is able to assist you, use the resources listed here to find help.
